- The DAC also approved prototype testing of trawl assemblies designed by DRDO for T-72 and T-90 tanks providing an important indigenous de-mining capability to the Army.
Govt notifies National Startup Advisory Council, Commerce Minister to chair
The government notified the structure of the National Startup Advisory Council.
The council to be chaired by commerce and industry minister.
- The council will suggest measures to foster a culture of innovation amongst citizens and students in particular, promote innovation in all sectors of economy across the country, support creative and innovative ideas through incubation and create an environment of absorption of innovation in industry.

A Committee to Draft Legislation on Mediation has been set up by Supreme Court of India
The Supreme Court has set up a panel headed by mediator Niranjan Bhat,to firm up a draft legislation to give legal sanctity to disputes settled through mediation, which would then be sent to the government as a suggestion from the apex court.
- The other members of the panel, appointed by the Mediation and Project Conciliation Committee (MCPC) of the Supreme Court, included Justice K Kanan, former ASGs AS Chandok and PS Narsimha, senior advocates Sriram Panchu and JP Singh, and senior mediators Susheela S, Sadhna Ramchandran, Laila Ollapally, and Anil Xavier

RBI ranked 6th in buying gold abroad in World Gold Council report
According to the report released by World Gold Council (WGC) titled “World Gold Outlook 2020”,the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) bought 7.5 tonnes of gold last October, buttressing its foreign exchange reserves to $450 billion .RBI became the sixth largest buyer when it purchased 25.2 tonnes in first 10 months of 2019 to hedge government’s sovereign gold bond issue.
- The central banks of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Poland bought more than India. In 2019, the largest gold sellers were Uzbekistan and Venezuela.

IMF trims India’s 2019 GDP growth forecast to 4.8% from 6.1%
The IMF lowered India’s economic growth estimate for the current fiscal to 4.8 per cent from 6.1% and listed the country’s much lower-than-expected GDP numbers as the single biggest drag on its global growth forecast for two years.
